OLa Looners!... Do I have a treat for you today! We shall be paying homage to 2 fashion trends that break boundaries && have been used in so many strange, awesome && gorgeous ways! oh Yes!! its LEATHER && LACE! Two fabrics that have been incorporated in every way since the 1500's.
Leather && Lace by Stevie Nicks with Don Henley
Leather with its edgy undertones made popular by Rock n Roll culture of the 70's & 80's has become a statement of rebellion & the iconic Leather Jacket has been worn by many with the same idea! Leather has always been a favorite of mine! With technological changes & ECO friendly improvements, we are now able to wear leather without the fear of animals being harmed in the process!
Fashion trends today with regards to leather has evolved so much that its being using for everything. Shoes, Jackets, handbags, Pants, Dresses, Skirts, Belts, other accessories, you name it!
Lace was worn by Aristocrats the world over. It was only made available in the 15th & 16th century, mostly dominated the 16th century through home decor as well as fashion. It was statement of poise && femininity during the Victorian era and has become a statement of class, beauty & grace. But Lace has evolved in such a way that its has become a bold statement however it cannot loose the sense of innocence, glamour & grace that it brings to each look! Don't get me wrong, Lace has been used in some "risque" ways but if done right it would never loose its timeless class.

Accessories
You can never go wrong with a leather sling bag! that could double a purse! this is my ultimate FAVORITE! I can wear it with anything && everything!
This is one way wearing lace has become periodic & timeless. Wearing lace gloves was a trend during the late Victorian era && I still rock it today! It can be worn in a chic & glamorous way or as I love to do it, edgy!
A LITTLE LACE GOES A LONG WAY
This Dress shows off exactly what I have mentioned above, how lace emphasizes timeless class & elegance! with the lovely light toned colour that accentuates how beautiful lace still is! effortless & time less! one of my favorite lace pieces in the #Abby_Gia_loon_Closet.
This is how this timeless fabric has evolved over the years! I'd say this is a subtle way of adding a bit of 2014 spark to this fabric, not over doing it but does add some "sexy" to it! Not to much but just enough!
This is a classic Lace pattern skirt! it is beautiful! It is all you need to make a statement. Pair it with a solid top or sheer or satin && you are good to go!
The best thing about lace is that you only need a little to make an outfit stand out.

PS: Many leather jackets seem to look blucky! make sure you choose one that suits your body type perfectly! or go for the crop leather jacket!

One of the latest trends today is leather sleeves. I have seen it being used on Denim Jackets, shirts, Jersey, Cardigans etc.
This is a beautiful knitted draped cardigan with leather sleeves. It is insanely warm!
I have used this skirt in more than 1 post, I love it that much!.
My leather fringe skirt, edgy & subtle. I prefer wearing one leather item, not over doing it! Shall not risk looking like a biker with no motor bike.
Leather, like lace, in moderation.
How Leather && lace can be worn together & actually compliment each other
For example:
<<< This One the Lace is making a statement. it is a bold printed lace && it is cropped so it could be paired with leather pants, not showing off leg, keeping it minimal & chic!
whereas with this one >>>> the leather jacket, as usual, is making the statement as it bold as it always is && the lace is accentuating the look making it more feminine & classy.
