DON'T DREAM IT..... BE IT!

Lets do the Time Warp Again....
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sg-vgGuTD8A

Since its Friday & all I thought I'd make this one a bit fun, down right silly & with a hint of classic inspiration.

But 1st I think I'll give you a Movication. "Movie" "Education"... Movication, from one of my all time favorite Musicals "THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW PICTURE SHOW", the film adaption of the musical "ROCKY HORROR SHOW" by Richard O'Brien. A humorous tribute to the science fiction and horror B movies of the late 1940s through early 1970s,

With is questionable plot of madness, transgender, cross dressing && doing the time warp again, this musical, even with its adult themes has a strong meaning that I attempt to apply to pretty much every situation & that is "Don't Dream It, Be it" & any one who knows me, knows I am not afraid of being BOLD!
Even starting this blog was something I continuously spoke about, not really attempting to get it up & running until, this Monday, 7th April 2014, I just said what the heck, let me just stop dreaming & do it. So it was only fitting to pay homage to the musical that inspired the decisions to start, ABBY GIA LOON.

This Cultural phenomena is still president today, & is seen in many forms through, TV shows like Glee & movies like , the Perks of being a wall flower, as well as sold out shows at the Fugard Theatre in Cape Town.
Rocky Horror gets a thumbs up from me! Its fun, bold, with great classic rock tunes not forgetting the incredible message this musical brings to us in an usual & outrageous way.

So lets get our Rocky Horror on! Here is a look from one of the Characters. She's my favorite...Columbia

What would this be without dramatic hair & makeup... after all this is a Rocky Horror Inspired look.

PS: A simple sleek pony  works well with wearing a top hat but I Decided to Jazz it up a bit.

 What you need:
- Flat Brush
- 2 Long Grips
- Straightener or Curling Iron
- Silicon Serum
Step 1: Combed hair making sure all knots are removed and the hair is smooth.

Step 2: Apply Silicon to get that shinny sleek look. After all Rocky Horror was set in the 70's, Hair gel & shine was all the rage back then.

Step 3: Brush hair to the desired side and grip it at the back of your hair where your ponytail usually rests.

Step 4: Curl hair from the center down. Taking small piece to create a messy curl effect.

Step 5: Place your top hat on the opposite side of your curls.

Now you have yourself a beautiful & easy hairstyle. Perfect for anytime of the day.

To finish this Columbia look you will need the following:

- Foundation
- White Eye Shadow
- Red Blush
- Liquid liner pen
- Gel Liner & Angle Brush
- Mascara
- Red Lip

Step 1: Apply Foundation

Step 2: Apply shadow to the eye lid as much as possible.

Step 3: Apply Blush to the apple of the cheek pulling it upward toward your ear. Yes it is meant to look like a straight line.

PS: this is a Broadway. So its all about the DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA!

Step 4: Taking you liquid liner pen, draw a line from the corner of your eye towards your brow, from the top of that line draw downward to your lash line, creating a triangle.

Step 5: Apply a thick line, with your gel liner from the inside of your eye, along the lash line towards your triangle. Fill in the triangle with gel liner as well.

Step 6: Apply liner with your pen to the bottom lid, from the corner to corner. Make a small black dot with the pen to create the famous Columbia mole underneath your eye. Apply Mascara on the bottom & top lashes.

Step 7: Finish off with Red lips & do not be shy! the Red lip is what makes this look stand out!

Hope you fall in love with this musical as much as I have!

With Love
